I've been privileged to get to work on a number of cool projects over the years:

Slashdot
MySQL
Virtual Hospital

Toss in a list of assorted Apache modules, perl modules, TCP/IP stacks, fulltext engines, in-memory engines, distributed repositories, data warehouses, and replications schemes for medical libraries.

Today I work for myself. In the past I have worked at MySQL AB, VA Linux, Andover.net, the Cobalt Group, Sun Microsystems, and a few others places.

I also spend some of my time promoting Open Source Software. I regularly speak at six or so conferences a year.

I have many, many, projects that I work on. When someone asks what I do, I say Drizzle, Memcached, and Gearman.

Travel? Good luck figuring out where I am at most of the time. I have a taste for adventure and indulge it regularly.

If you look through my photos you will discover that my favorite "sport" is rock climbing. I actively train, which means you can find me in a gym three or more times a week.
